PressPage Product Update Q4 2015

Looking back while wishing you a very healthy & happy 2016!

Summary

We are very excited about all the developments in our company and industry and have put together a really strong roadmap for this year. But now, let’s take a look at what our development team managed to deliver in the last quarter of 2015.

Get the most out of your media

The different media modules in PressPage are constantly being improved to make sure our customers are able to present their content in the best possible ways.

This time, our development team added native MP4 (video) support to enable the embedding of video without the use of video platforms. This gives optional B-roll functionality, as the video can not only be watched but also offered as a download.

Social sharing

With a wide range of features focused on social media, the possibilities for visitors to share content can sometimes be a bit overwhelming. That is why our team worked on advanced options to connect AddThis accounts and control the different ways people are triggered to share. This enables our users to create the most optimal social experience for their audience.

Bringing it all together

Whether our platform is used to create a newsroom, media hub or dedicated press centre, these different types of use-cases all benefit from a lot of the features our team develops. The headline module for example, was expanded with the option to granularly control the amount of releases displayed. In the calendar module, it is now possible to connect an event to a specific release to provide visitors with more information. Apart from functional upgrades, our team implemented a couple of optimizations resulting in significant speed improvements.

Crisis communications

With clients ranging from airlines to hospitals and governments, our platform is regularly used for crisis communications. That is why we have developed a special ‘Crisis Case’ option. When enabled, all traffic to the newsroom will be redirected to the specified release to make sure critical news is not left unnoticed.

Value your data

Our developers try to help clients maximize the value of the data they have in the PressPage platform. RSS feeds now include more types of data and a separate video RSS feed has been implemented. Another important aspect of the platform is the API, which is currently being used by a select group of clients and constantly evolving. It will allow our clients to leverage their data even more and create interesting new experiences and integrations.
