Facebook Newsroom 2.0

Increased branding and additional features for all Facebook Newsrooms.

Summary

Facebook continues to grow as an engagement platform for brands and their fans. For many brands the network therefore continues to be a great place to distribute news and content.
For that reason, we introduced the Facebook newsroom back in December 2010.
Recently we have updated this feature by simplifying the set-up process to an easy three click process from within the PressPage platform. Furthermore, we have increased branding options and enriched the Facebook newsroom with features that will increase web-traffic and engagement.

In a study about the news consumption and sharing habits of its international readership, CNN found that 43% of online news sharing occurs via social media networks and tools, such as Facebook,Twitter, YouTube and MySpace, followed by e-mail (30%), SMS (15%) and instant messenger (12%).

For that reason, we introduced the Facebook newsroom back in December 2010. Basically enhancing the workflow of the content publishing brand by pushing release content direclty from tthe corporate newsroom into the Facebook newsroom. This publication feature allowed Facebook fans of a brand to easily navigate to the “newsroom” tab and view the releases without leaving the social network.

Due to the feature's popularity with publishers and fans, we have upgraded the Facebook newsroom several times since its introduction.
Now, besides being able to set it up in minutes from within the PressPage platform, we have also given it a complete make-over so it is more in line with the look & feel and funtionality of the brand's official newsroom.
Visitors are now able to directly download pictures from the newsroom media gallery whilst still on Facebook. At the same time we have increased the ways of taking visitors from Facebook straight to the original website of the brand to boost conversion.

We began working with PressPage not long after launching our bespoke music service. We have found the platform easy to use and with excellent results. Having our news directly integrated with Facebook has been an essential part of our social strategy and it was all set up with a click of a button.
