Development Report Q1 2012
We had a great start of the year with a lot of improvements and new features. We focused on a couple of very visible front-end features and worked on workflow improvements.
An overview of all published images and videos was added on newsroom level. This 'Media Library' will be expanded and improved in the coming months. It will grow out to be a great place to browse through the most exciting content of any newsroom.
Organizing an event, starting a newsletter or just want people to submit their opinion? Create a form with our simple but effective form module. We will send all submitted data to the e-mail address of your choosing.
The use of video in social media releases and newsrooms is exploding, so new ways of presenting videos are needed. The video showreel can be packed with tons of videos while still using the same amount of pixels.
One of the fastest growing social media platforms is Pinterest. It's all about sharing & discovering in a very visual way. That's why we added functionality to enable all images published through PressPage to be pinned on Pinterest. A great way to get content noticed and potentially go viral. Expect to see more Pinterest features in the coming months!
Get other news noticed by placing headlines in a social media release. This stimulates the engagement of your audience, resulting in more pageviews and a longer time-on-site.
As an expansion of the headline module an overview page of all headlines has been added. It serves as an archive and gives a visitor of a newsroom a complete history of all published releases.
Coverage module 1.1
The addition of audio now enables our users to add radio coverage to their coverage list. The addition of timestamps helps to manage the order of coverage on days where coverage items follow eachother up quickly.
Usability & Design
To enable a faster login procedure, we introduced basic login assistance. Our system keeps track of the accounts that are most used on a particular device and pre-fills the login fields accordingly.
Never ask your colleague for his PressPage credentials again. From now on accounts can be managed by multiple users. This especially comes in handy in emergency situations.
We have been working on some improvements in general system usability, focused on improving the workflow. Switch even faster between crucial functionality.
Media Manager 1.7
To enable more efficient management of content we added search functionality to the media manager and the ability to add categories. The categories will be used in new features like the media library.
