PressPage provides workshop at the London College of Communication


The London College of Communication (LCC), part of the University of Arts, London (UAL), teamed up with PressPage to provide students with a workshop about social media releases and newsrooms. With PressPage’s input, students were given a practical insight in what it takes to publish content into the search and social worlds.

On January 24th, PressPage took part in a workshop on social media releases and newsrooms with students from LCC’s BA (hons) Public Relations course. The purpose of this workshop was to introduce the practical side of social and web publishing by allowing students the opportunity to work with the same newsroom technology that is used by leading global PR agencies and their corporate clients.

The assignment for the students was to practically explore the possibilities and the power of a social media release.
During the workshop, students were encouraged to draft social media releases on a range of stories showcasing the diverse range of news from LCC. The releases will be published on LCC’s own newsroom and distributed to the college’s relevant social media channels. Additionally, the social media releases will automatically appear in the LCC Facebook Newsroom.

The anticipated outcome of the workshop was to have a fully populated newsroom for LCC, which will be presented to the Communication Department shortly.
