Presspage Privacy Statement

Presspage B.V., with its registered office in Amsterdam at Joan Muyskenweg 22, is responsible for processing your personal data as a data controller in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In this Privacy Statement, Presspage B.V. and its affiliates are referred to as ‘Presspage’, ‘us’, ‘we’ or ‘our’. ‘Website’ means www.presspage.com,‘Services’ means Presspage’s services in the format they are offered to our customers.

Presspage takes your privacy very seriously and handles your personal data with the utmost security and care. This Privacy Statement applies to you when you are a customer of Presspage, a visitor to our website, applying for a position at Presspage, or contacting us.

This Privacy Statement explains how Presspage processes your personal data, for what we collect this data and on what grounds we process your personal data, how long we keep your personal data, who we share your personal data with and how your personal data is protected. Then it is explained how your personal data is protected and what rights you have as a data subject. Finally, it is explained how we use cookies and how you can contact us.

Presspage defines ‘Customer’ as an entity with which Presspage has an agreement to provide Presspage Services, the term ‘Visitor’ as an individual that visits our website, the term ‘Other Data Subjects’ as any individual other than a Customer or Visitor, whose personal data is processed by Presspage. Presspage implements and maintains appropriate technical, security and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing.

Presspage and the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The GDPR became effective in May 2018 and affected the way in which organizations collect and process personal data of EU subjects. The GDPR harmonizes all European data protection laws to improve the way organizations handle personal data. The GDPR defines personal information and scopes to incorporate any organization, even when these organisations are based outside the EU, that gathers personal data of people in the EU.

In our role as an international company, we ensure that we always comply with applicable local laws, including the GDPR. In this Privacy Statement it is explained how we comply with the GDPR and how we ensure that privacy is safeguarded for both EU and non-EU citizens. It is stated below what kind of personal data Presspage processes and for what purposes we do this. We will hold data no longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and as long as necessary to support the Services and the Website, to resolve disputes or as required by applicable laws and regulations.

Personal Data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. What kind of personal data does Presspage collect?

All data related to Customers

To be able to provide our Customers with the Services we collect their personal data. This data is given to us by the Customers.

Service. When the Customer signs up to use our Service, we collect personal data of the Customer. The processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of the contract between the Customer and Presspage. The collected personal data may include the following:

  • First and last name
  • Company address
  • Email addresses
  • Phone number
  • Picture
  • Date and place of birth
  • Gender
  • Social media profile links
  • IP address
  • Location data
  • Log-in name
  • Mobile device ID’s

Finance. When the Customer purchases the Service, financial information is collected to invoice the Customer. The processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of the contract between the Customer and Presspage. The collected data may include the following:

  • First and last name
  • Company name
  • Billing address
  • Email address
  • Other payment information

Technical Information. With the use of webanalytics tools, we collect technical information (data from the user agent, like browser type, referral source, length of visit and pages viewed and other similar behavioural data, and usernames) about the Customer’s usage of the Presspage Manager on user level, to optimize the Services, monitor usage or traffic patterns and gather demographic information about our platform. The processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Presspage. The collected personal data may include the following:

  • IP address
  • Location data
  • Mobile device ID’s

Marketing. We may occasionally use Customer’s information to send promotional communications about product or feature updates, events, webinars, newsletters or provide other news or information about us. Except for cases where we are required to do so, the Customer has the opportunity to unsubscribe from receiving these messages by using the unsubscribe link within each email. The processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Presspage. The collected personal data may include the following:

  • First and last name
  • Work and/or personal email addresses
  • IP address
  • Location data

Other platforms. Our goal is to make sure the Customer receives the best service from Presspage. To realize this, we use CRM systems and chat features in which Customer’s data is stored. This helps us to give our customers the best service, to ensure that the Service we provide is correctly administered and to provide the best technical assistance and support. The processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Presspage and/or necessary for the performance of the contract between the Customer and Presspage.

All data related to Visitors

Via our website we collect data that has been given to us by the Visitors by using a contact form, the chat feature, or when a free trial is requested. We will use this provided data (including the message content when using the chat feature) for the indicated purposes, which is providing you the information you requested only. The processing of personal data is based on consent.

All data related to Other Data Subjects

Recruitment. We collect and store personal data that is submitted to us for recruiting purposes. This data facilitates the recruitment process. The personal data that is provided to us to apply to one of our vacancies, is stored. This data includes the following:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Profile photo
  • CV

The processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by Presspage. We store this information as long as necessary for application purposes.

Rights in regards to your personal data

If it is not otherwise required by law, we will provide you with access to your personal data upon request. At all times you have the right to request this access, but also to request correction or deletion of your personal data processed by Presspage. Right to amend

If you wish to make changes to the personal information that you have seen as a result of a request for access and you are unable to make the changes yourself in your account, you may request that Presspage makes these changes for you. You may request that Presspage modifies, corrects, supplements, erases or shields your information.

Right to object

If processing of your data takes place on the grounds of ‘legitimate interest’, you have the right to object to that processing.

Portability of data

You have the right to obtain your personal data from Presspage. Presspage will provide this in a structured and commonly used format, which can easily be opened.

Withdrawing consent

When the legal basis for a particular processing is your explicit consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent. This does not affect past processing, but does mean that we will no longer be allowed to process this data in the future. It may also result in Presspage no longer being able to provide you with certain services.

Response from Presspage

A request can be sent to [email protected]. Presspage will comply with your request as soon as possible and in any case no later than one (1) month after Presspage has received such a request. If Presspage rejects your request, we will indicate in our reply why the request was rejected.

Disclosing your personal data

We may disclose your personal information if we are required to do so by law. We sometimes share your personal information with third parties (sub processors, or parties who provide various products and services on our behalf) to provide, maintain and improve our Services. These parties are limited to use your Personal Data for any purpose other than to provide services for us. These service providers process your personal data exclusively on behalf of Presspage. The processing is subject to a sub-processing agreement, in which Presspage has ensured that the service provider will only process personal data carefully on behalf of Presspage. For example, your data may be disclosed to:

  • Email service providers
  • Hosting providers
  • Providers of technical support

Transfer to third countries or international organisations

It may be necessary, for instance for technical and operational reasons, to transfer your (personal) data to affiliates of Presspage located outside the European Economic Area. Due to the possibility that the regulations in the area of privacy protection do not offer the same protection as within the European Economic Area, Presspage uses the EU Model Clauses to protect your privacy as best as possible. If that is not possible, Presspage will ask your consent to transfer your (personal) data to countries that do not maintain an adequate protection level. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

Changes to this Privacy Statement

We may make changes to this Privacy Statement from time to time and, if so, we will post a revised version of this statement on our website. All changes are effective immediately and it is your responsibility to remain informed of the latest version of the Privacy Statement. We therefore advise you to regularly read the Privacy Statement. The most recent version is of March 2021.

Cookies

Other data we collect via our website is collected via cookies or other technologies, which are placed in part by third parties. Cookies are small pieces of (text) information that are sent to your browser when you visit the website of Presspage and then stored on the hard disk or in the memory of your device. The cookies placed via Presspage’s website cannot damage your device or the files stored on it. We use these cookies in order to analyse the use and performance of our website. We use website analytics services that generate information to evaluate the usage of our website with the purpose of improving its functionalities.
